Industry Day for Ediz Hook Beach Nourishment Project

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Northwestern Division – Seattle District (NWS) is hosting a Virtual Industry Day event to provide additional information and gain feedback from industry on the Ediz Hook Beach Nourishment project in Port Angeles, Washington. The Government is seeking qualified, experienced sources capable of performing this type of project.

The agency has been tasked to solicit for and award a construction contract to procure and place beach nourishment fill material along the seaward toe of the Ediz Hook armor stone revetment to a height of +12 ft Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW).  Up to 40,000 tons of 6 to 12” minus rounded cobble is expected to be placed within a 2,900 ft zone along the revetment. Construction will occur in one season and is expected to last 4-8 weeks based on available funding.

Access to repair area would occur over existing roads and over the armored slope of the revetment near the east end of the paper mill near Sta. 151+00. Contractor must temporarily remove and stockpile armor stone to facilitate to the repair area.  Upon completion of beach nourishment placement activities, contractor must rebuild the revetment using the stockpiled armor stone.

All work (transport and placement) must be performed using land-based equipment.  Work is anticipated to begin 16 July 2026. All construction activity below the High Tide Line must be complete by 30 September 2026. The entire project, including cleanup of the premises, must be complete by 15 October 2026.
