Industry Day – Repair/Consolidate Water Treatment Plant
35th Contracting Squadron will host an Industry Day in support of an upcoming construction project at Misawa Air Base, Japan. This notice is issued for market research purposes to obtain industry feedback and to provide preliminary project information to interested and qualified contractors.
The proposed project includes the demolition of existing water treatment plant facilities and the construction of a new, consolidated, and fully operational surface water treatment plant at Misawa Air Base. The scope encompasses comprehensive site preparation, utility modifications, and the construction of new treatment and administrative facilities.
Key features of the project include, but are not limited to:
- Demolition and Site Work: Complete removal of existing water treatment structures, piping, and electrical systems, followed by site cleaning, earthwork, paving, and site restoration.
- New Water Treatment Facility: Construction of a surface water treatment plant incorporating coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, membrane filtration, ozonation, and Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) adsorption systems.
- Support Facilities and Intake: Construction of a new water intake structure from Lake Ogawara with associated piping, a new clearwell for storage and disinfection, a new administrative building, and upgrades to existing raw water pumping stations.
- Utilities and Infrastructure: Installation and/or modification of potable and fire water piping, stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer systems, electrical systems, and integration with existing control systems.
The purpose of this Industry Day is to:
- Provide an overview of the project scope and anticipated requirements.
- Allow interested parties to gain a general understanding of site conditions.
- Respond to industry questions to support future acquisition planning.
- Encourage competition and potential teaming arrangements.
