Milford Haven Dredging and Jetty Repair Industry Day
The project is comprised of hydraulic maintenance or mechanical dredging of Milford Haven Channel, transport of material by pipeline with placement within the beach placement sites, minor site-work of the placement sites and restoration of the adjacent jetty structure as shown in the attached draft drawing and draft specifications. Dredging will include a portion of the authorized channel to a depth of -10 feet mean lower low water (MLLW) and will include 1 foot of allowable overdepth. Jetty work will include the removal of old stone and installation of sheet piles and new stone. The work will be located at the Milford Haven Federal Navigation Channel in Gwynn, Virginia.
The purpose of the event is to seek dredging industry input regarding best practices, alternative suggestions, and examples of past success on similar projects for the technical execution of the Milford Haven dredging contract. The event will begin with the USACE-NAO’s presentation of the project’s scope, dredge areas, pumping distances, dredged material placement considerations, and an overview of the jetty maintenance work expected to be awarded with the base contract. At the conclusion of the presentation, there will be project discussion and question-and-answer period. USACE-NAO encourages participants to input for the consideration for the final design and solicitation.
